State Puts Financial Muscle Behind Support for PACE

Two Million Dollars Appropriated in 2007–2009 Biennium Budget

The 2007–2009 Washington State biennial budget was signed by the governor on May 15, 2007 and included an appropriation of $2 million for Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE). The appropriation is listed under the Local Capital/Community Projects portion of the budget and brings the total State contribution of PACE to $2.5 million.

"We worked closely with the House and Senate, as well as the Governor, to help them better appreciate the impact and importance PACE will have to East King County residents and business," said Skip Rowley, Chairman of the Board of PACE. "The Eastside delegation worked very hard on our behalf recognizing the significance of such a project, its potential influence on our region of the state, and the value of PACE to the entire region. We appreciate their leadership and collaboration. We look forward to even more support in future budgets."
