John Haynes joined Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) as the new Executive Director and CEO in early January. He came prepared and eager to reach out to the broad Puget Sound community supporting PACE. Executive Director Launch Parties were planned for Bellevue, Seattle, and Issaquah, and drew more than 200 government officials, business leaders, and community leaders. These "mix and mingle" events allowed Mr. Haynes to interact with Eastside leaders and community supporters. Additionally, they provided a forum for sharing his vision for making the 2,000-seat performing arts center an integral part of the Eastside community.

The Bellevue party, held at the Harbor Club in late January, was hosted by PACE Campaign Co-Chairs Betty and Kemper Freeman and Karen and Chuck Lytle. Several weeks later at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle, an event was also hosted by the Freemans along with Cathi and Ken Hatch. Skip and Debra Rowley joined with Sally and Peter Jarvis to host the Issaquah/Sammamish event in early March.

"These low-key events were wonderful opportunities to meet our supporters and the community leadership who share the vision for PACE," said Haynes. "It allowed me to become familiar with this diverse community more quickly than I anticipated. I knew when I took on this opportunity that it was one of the most dynamic and exciting projects in the country today. After meeting the broad range of supporters and hearing directly from them, I am even more certain that this community is ready and eager to make PACE a centerpiece of the Eastside."

PACE would like to thank Mike Nakamura for providing photography for the Executive Director Launch Parties.
