BELLEVUE, WA. (Sep 12, 2006) – The Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) announced today the launch of a nationwide search for a new executive director. The search follows the March 2006 announcement that current Executive Director, Richard Collins, will be changing his role at PACE to concentrate on overseeing the theatre's design and construction.

"Few opportunities like this exist in the country. The new executive director will be able to help shape the evolving cultural scene," says Maxine Barnard, board member and co-chair of the Search Committee for PACE. "Bellevue is gaining significant recognition as a city. It was recently listed in Money magazine as 21st on its list of Best Places to Live, 2006. PACE is a vital component to the downtown corridor and will enhance the cultural options in our community. The result is a more vibrant place to live, work, and play."

"Our goal," states Cathi Hatch, board member and co-chair of the search committee for PACE, "is to find someone who combines the business and leadership skills we seek with a passion and love of the performing arts. Although we are launching the search nationwide, we are very interested in identifying candidates in the Puget Sound area."

To manage the search PACE has engaged Pamela Rolfe, of Career Specialists of Bellevue. Ms. Rolfe expects the search to be completed, with a new executive director on board, by early 2007.
