BELLEVUE, WA. (Aug 3, 2006) – The online silent auction of the Act One Guild's Bucks For PACE tabletop Bucks has sold one Buck and the others show signs of active bidding, according to Suzanne Hutchinson, director of guilds and guild events for Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE). The Bucks For PACE public art and fundraising project was created to raise funds for PACE, opening in 2009.
Northwest artists created 40 tabletop Bucks to support the fundraising effort. The online silent auction for the tabletop Bucks is active today via auction online at the Act One Guild website.
The "Herd" of life-size Bucks is on display at Bellevue Square throughout the summer. The Bucks will also be auctioned at the Guild's Autumn Candlelight Dinner and Bucks For PACE Auction on October 21, 2006 at The Westin Bellevue. Information about purchasing tickets for the event is available at the Act One Guild website or by calling 425.462.0095.
The goal of this ambitious project is to raise $500,000 for PACE. "We are delighted to see that the first tabletop Buck, Buckaneer, by Stephen Matthias, has already sold for the guaranteed price," says Hutchinson. "With the level of activity online, we are confident that the rest of the Bucks will all be sold by the time Oct. 21st rolls around."
