BELLEVUE, WA. (Sep 5, 2006) – The Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) and the Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) today announce a new exhibit of 39 tabletop hand-painted Bucks to run from September 8 to October 20, 2006 at the Museum. The Bucks are part of the larger Bucks For PACE project launched this summer by the Act One Guild, a volunteer fundraising arm of PACE.

"We have had the life-size Bucks on display since early summer (individually painted Bucks are on display in Bellevue Square with three additional Bucks located on the waterfront in Medina, at the downtown Bellevue QFC, and at Sturtevants) but, until now, have not had a public home for the tabletop versions," says Molly Sears, co-chair for the Bucks For PACE Auction. "These hand-painted Bucks are so creative and should be viewed by the public. We are so appreciative of BAM for offering to give them a temporary home and make them available for everyone to enjoy."

The smaller Bucks will be located on the main level of BAM along the pedestrian walkway (next to Lincoln Square). Each Buck is hand-painted by Northwest artists and many are currently available for bidding in the Bucks For PACE online auction.

Several of the tabletop Bucks in the exhibit have been designed and autographed by leading local sports figures. They will be available for bidding with the 26 life-size Bucks during the live auction at the Guild's Autumn Candlelight Dinner and Bucks For PACE Auction on October 21, 2006 at The Westin Bellevue. The goal of this ambitious project is to raise $500,000 for PACE. Information about purchasing tickets for the event is available at www.actoneguild.org or by calling 425.462.0095.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to support PACE and the wonderful Act One Guild project and bring these special works of art to BAM," says Michael Monroe, director of BAM. "The display is in keeping with our mission and brings life to the main lobby area and gives passersby and museum visitors a unique and charming display. We hope it will help spur on greater interest in the Bucks For PACE project and the arts in general."
