Future Eastside Performing Arts Center Hires Director of Development

BELLEVUE, Wash. (Feb. 1, 2005) – Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) announces today the appointment of Linda Johnson Bonomi to the position of Director of Development. The new position was created as part of the Center's planned management expansion and strategic focus on development for the 2000-seat theater scheduled to open in 2008 in downtown Bellevue on the corner of 106th Avenue NE and NE 10th Street.

In her new position, Bonomi will work with the Executive Director Richard Collins and the Board of Director's to meet the Center's goal to raise $100 million over the next three years to fund the building and operational endowment. "We are delighted to add Linda to the management team at PACE," says Collins, executive director for PACE. "Her vast experience and commitment to the Center will be an outstanding combination to help us achieve our fundraising goals."

Bonomi has worked as a development professional with Seattle area non-profits for nearly fifteen years. She comes to PACE from Pacific Northwest Research Institute where she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of fundraising as their Director of Development.

According to Bonomi, she considers herself a seasoned veteran who "gravitates to entrepreneurial opportunities." Her list of achievements includes opening a Seattle regional fundraising office for Los Angeles based City of Hope National Medical Center (Director of Development 1988 – 1994), starting a corporate giving program for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Director from 1994 – 2000), as well as serving as the Executive Director for the American Cancer Society in Palm Desert, Calif. until 2002 when she moved back to the Pacific Northwest to assume the position with the research institute.

"I am eager to put my experience to work for PACE," says Bonomi. "My husband's family has lived in Issaquah for over ninety years. The Eastside is our home and the home of our children and grandchildren. I'm thrilled to be associated with the start-up of this dynamic and world class performing arts center which will provide a wide variety of arts and entertainment enjoyment for generations to come"

The Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) is a proposed 2,000-seat world-class cultural center scheduled to open in 2008. It is anticipated to draw a diverse range of performances and serve as a confluence for arts, education and entertainment.
