Dear Chuck:
At Seattle Symphony we have seen firsthand the positive changes that a new cultural facility brings to a community. The creation of Benaroya Hall has been a vital part of the revitalization of downtown. Performing Arts Center Eastside is poised to play a similar, significant role in the coming of age of downtown Bellevue and the entire Eastside, and I am pleased to offer my endorsement of PACE and its capital campaign.
I believe that arts organizations in the Puget Sound region are an integral part of the community, whether their focus is international or local. The facilities we build as homes for them represent much more than the physical structures we see. They are statements of a belief that we hold as essential to our society: that the arts matter in creating a populace that is educated, humane, productive and creative.
Eastside subscribers and donors form a critical part of Seattle Symphony's audience and our success. PACE will help the Symphony keep these people, and their love of classical music, closely involved in our future.
Sincerely,
Gerard Schwarz
Music Director
