Dear Dick:

As Board President and Artistic Director of the Cascadian Chorale, we are writing this letter in support of PACE's efforts to build an Eastside performing arts theatre. As a performing group on the Eastside, we can attest to the difficulties we have had finding appropriate venues at which to hold our concerts. Many do not have the flexibility of seating capacity to accommodate performing groups of different sizes: some concerts are sung a capella, some accompanied with piano, and still others performed with an orchestra. Many seasons, we must change from venue to venue to accommodate our various concerts. This is not an optimal situation for any group trying to build a loyal, consistent audience. In addition, most venues are not ideally designed with the acoustics necessary for choral singing. Our understanding is that PACE's new Eastside facility would address these issues as well serving as an opportunity for our group to expand our music to new audiences. We wholeheartedly support PACE's efforts and look forward to seeing a high quality, choral friendly facility on the Eastside.

If you have any further questions about the needs of Eastside choral groups we would be happy to assist you.

Sincerely,

Michele Berman
Board President
